WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY

This is our 15th year in business in Brittany and our clients feedback, a sample listed below and the repeat booking activity for the coming years is testament to the service we offer.

Having recently returned from a wedding set in this beautiful location, I can't speak highly enough of the place. Hosts Tim and Ruth were delightful people who were very helpful towards everyone. The cottages were gorgeous and well equipped. The kitchens were more than adequate it really was like a home from home. The pool was lovely and enjoyed by all those who took a dip or two. By far one of the most outstanding features was the lazy river which passes round the grounds, so peaceful and yet while Sat by it you can't keep your eyes off it. Some massive dragonflies too. The local shops are within 10 minute walk and the fresh pastries and breads are delightful. Plenty of nearby resteraunts should you want to eat out. I really can't rate this place high enough. It's a must for couples, it's also a must for families. Will I return again? Too right I will. 10/10. Absolutely fantastic. Also one last shout out to Tim who gave us lift to the airport even though it was 2.5 hours out of his way, you are a true gent sir. Scott, Middlesbough 2017

It becomes difficult to write a review when you become attached to the location and the owners! The complex lies in a tranquil little valley alongside a tumbling trout stream. All facilities are close by, walking distance in most cases. the beaches are a 35m minute drive, but if you wanted to there is no need to leave the complex. We cycled to the local patisserie, and the supermarket, and the owners provide bikes for everyone to use. There is a little restaurant in the town where we had lunch. 12 euro set menu including wine. Tim, made it easy for us, by phoning the owners and making a booking. The kids spent loads of time in the pool, which was really warm and has a cover for when the weather does its worst. We used the kayaks provided to go around 2km down the river, which is beautiful, and fished in the river.... Evenings were spent on the patio area using the provided purpose built BBQs drinking many beers and wines. I will be coming back! Super holiday. Ian, St Albans 2017

This really is a gorgeous resort. Our family stayed in The Manor. There were 15 of us and it was absolutely perfect. Loads of room, a games room, canoes in the beautiful river, pool, beautiful setting, superb BBQ, peaceful and tranquil. Tim and Ruth were great- Incredibly chilled out and just completely left you to it. It really is a beautiful place with amazing scenery. Highly recommended. Thanks very much and we hope to see you again soon. Richard, Milton Keynes 2016

The property is gorgeous! From the landscaping to the stream to the pool. House very nice, comfortable, well-equipped. Hosts very helpful and friendly. Good location for taking day trips throughout the region. Highly recommend. Would definitely stay here again. Jamie, New York 2016

Nine of us in three generations stayed in the Mill Cottage which was comfortable, the site exactly as described and we had a very enjoyable week. The outdoor facilities kept the children so well occupied that they preferred to stay on site than see the sights of Brittany! Most evenings saw most of the able-bodied from the various groups of holiday makers joining in a game of football which occasionally involved a volunteer in a kayak retrieving the ball from the river. Plouguenast has all the basic facilities and is ideally situated for exploring Brittany. We used the Portsmouth-Caen route outbound and returned via Cherbourg on the fast ferry. St Malo is nearer to the site but involves a much longer crossing at inconvenient times. The two members of the old generation did our own thing - the Lac de Guerledan with lunch at the Anse de Sordan, Dinan on market day and (on one of the wet days) the Contemporary Art Centre at the Kerguehennec Chateau were outstanding. The beach at Carnac was brilliant for the younger crew while the oldies wandered the town and the excellent Museum of Prehistory. Tim & Ruth were very helpful hosts and do a great job in keeping the place fresh and tidy. Martin, Exeter 2015

We were four families with lots of kids ranging from 4 to 15 - all in all 20 people and this is just the perfect place. It has everything! We rented the Mill house. The photos do not do the house or the property justice. From the very minute you come down the drive, it's just wow! Brilliant! The hosts are there if you need them and extremely helpful and attentive, but very professional so they know how to keep in the background and let people relax. The house, kitchen, pool, wifi, canoes, bikes etc. you name it - this place has it. Everything is well stocked, in perfect working order and of a really good standard. We would be more than happy to come back another time. Thank you! Garry, Isle of Wight 2015

We stayed in The Mill cottage last summer and returned this August to stay in Leat Cottage. Although Leat Cottage is a lot smaller, we enjoyed another relaxing week at Moulin de la Touche. Great facilities on site and this summer I went rafting further downstream with the 2 youngest members of our group. Lovely village within walking distance with supermarket. Friendly locals.

We rented three of the houses here in early August of 2014 and it is a stunning place, so peaceful but with loads to do and the pictures don't begin to do it justice. Our hosts were attentive but unobtrusive and there was no extra charge for any of the many additional facilities on site. I even managed to go home with all my holiday washing done! I would highly recommend a stay here, it's just a shame it's such a long drive or I would be back again this year for sure.Stayed August 2014, traveled with family.

After the madness of Disneyland, this was just what the doctor ordered. The peace, calm and serenity of the place with the excellent on site facilities and proximity to the local village hit the mark. We, that's myself, my wife and 4 girls (aged between 7 and 18) stayed in Bank cottage which was perfect for our needs. The sun shone and we were able to eat outdoors, BBQ and just relax whilst the girls, swam, paddled or kayaked in the river, relaxed or played with friends they had made. The sound of the river at night sent us drifting off after a wonderful day. Tim and Ruth were wonderful hosts and made us very welcome. The river and kayaks gave this property the edge over other sites, and we will be returning next year.

2 adults and 2 teenagers stayed for a fortnight in Willow Cottage July 2014, the grounds of the complex are extensive and so beautiful we happily stayed onsite for a few days feeling no need to go out. Sitting in the garden overlooking the river, lounging by the pool (which has a removable roof so can be used in all weathers) playing badminton/pool/table tennis, playing in the kayaks on the river, i could go on. The cottage was clean, lovely and cool out of the heat outside and had all the facilities needed, and additionally hundreds of dvds and books to use. I like the fact despite the picturesque location, you are within walking distance of the town with food shops too. In terms of going out, within half an hour there are a number of beautiful beaches and lovely seaside towns with stunning scenery. A thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

We rented Manor house and Mill cottage together. Fantastic grounds, lovely pool. We were surprised by how much we liked borrowing the kayaks and going for a little trip on the river. Slightly difficult stairs for my dad but we saw a ground floor room in one of the other cottages which looked lovely. I think it would be worth beefing up the stair handrails on to the first floor. Wifi signal a bit poor in areas of the house but Tim and Ruth were very helpful when trying to re-arrange transport home (French air traffic strike!!). We were lucky and had the grounds to ourselves, shared with the other cottages otherwise, there is a lot of room and I don't think this would put me off. I think it would be useful to have a couple of rooms with bigger doubles (or two singles that could pull together). Everyone in our group had a lovely time and would come again.

We have just returned from a fabulous getaway, staying in Willow Cottage. The grounds of Le Moulin de la Touche are gorgeous and transport you far away from the strains of city life. We particularly loved the thoughtful detail - a swing over the river, a swimming pool hidden away among the flora and fauna, a dappled forest path alongside the river. We enjoyed kayaking, even though we did this in the pouring rain. Location is accessible to the coast, inland lakes and medieval villages. Great stay, highly recommended. Cannot speak more highly of Tim and Ruth's hospitality and kindness. And again, the grounds are simply dreamlike.

A joint holiday [3 Families] in The Manor was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The house and adjacent cottages are located in extensive and attractive private grounds within a river corridor providing lots of space for children to ride bikes, some freely available on site, play games, and generally to safely enjoy themsleves. There is also a well equipped games room, a seperate football pitch, kayaks freely available for paddling along the river bordering the site, and a large heated pool with plenty of loungers. Inside the house there is a well equipped kitchen with plenty of seating and a large sitting room with a wood burning stove, if needed. Ruth and Tim were very welcoming and ensuring we fully enjoyed our stay. Despite the indifferent weather our stay provided both an active and relaxing family holiday. Perry, Hertford 2013

We went here last summer and booked up 3 of the properties for a total of 26 of us to stay. The properties were lovely and the estate was beautiful, we had plenty to do and the kids loved roaming around the estate. Ruth and Tim were helpful and gave us some tips of places to visit away from the normal tourist areas. They also put us in touch with the local restaurant who organised a fantastic meal for us all to go to. Highly recommend this venue for groups of friends or large family get together. Karen, Rochester 2013

Poor Tim and Ruth had 17 bikers turn up on their doorstep, a minor detail that I forgot to mention to them when booking, but they were very welcoming and this place has to be seen to be believed. The sort of place when you say 'if I win the lottery I am buying it off them'. The most beautiful location in a valley with the river flowing through it. We hired the Manor and I found it to have everything we needed, plenty of room for us all and we enjoyed the pool and playing volleyball. Luckily there is a supermarket up the road for all of your essentials and we made good use of the bbq areas. Dawn Purchese, Dunstable, Aug 2013

We enjoyed the best holiday I've had in a long time at Moulin de la Touche. Our cottage was spacious and charming and the location is just beautiful, beside woodland and the river. Large, well cared for gardens, BBQ area for each cottage - very peaceful and relaxing. There's plenty to do and the children were never bored with the swimming pool, games room with a library of DVDs, football pitch, badminton net in garden and kayaks to use on the river. Tim and Ruth are such nice people Nick & Lucy Sansom, Bristol, Aug 2013

"We had a fantastic week at Moulin de la Touche. The location is stunning. It is a fantastic place for a family. The swimming pool was great and a big hit with the children. The accommodation provided everything we needed and having the barbecue in the garden was a bonus. There was plenty to do including football, badminton and fishing. Tim and Ruth were very friendly and helpful with advice about where to go. We would definitely stay again". Maxine Bradley, Newton Abbott, Aug 2013

"Beautiful setting with lots to do in the vicinity. The owners make you extremely welcome and go out of their way to nake sure you enjoy the stay. Everything you could want is provided on site, from kayaking to the loan of bikes. The river that runs beside all the properties is beautiful and provides a relaxing, tranquil setting yet nearby you can visit medieval towns and lots more.
Thoroughly recommended" Helen O'Neil, New Romney, Aug 2013

Home now, and everyone is saying what a great time they had - especially the boys, who really did have the time of their lives. Le Moulin de la Touche is a fantastic place for youngsters and adults alike: you must be very proud of what you have created, and clearly work hard to maintain. It was also great to meet and enjoy some memorable games of football with your boys. What a great set of lads - and excellent footballers too. Dan & Shelly Nathan, Nailsea, Bristol July 2012

"Wow" what a fantastic time we had, such a wonderful place to celebrate a family birthday. Accomodation was fantastic, setting brilliant, just want we wanted for our large family group. Thank you Tim and Ruth for letting us share where you live. Absolutely recommend it for large parties of people.
