
An Introduction to Drawing and Painting
‘An
Introduction to Drawing and Painting’ is a five-day residential
art course set in a valley of outstanding natural beauty. The area, famous
for its old waterwheel mills and landscapes, makes an ideal setting for
all sorts of drawing and painting. Enjoy learning to draw and paint in
one of Brittany's picturesque hotspots.
Who
is it for?
If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at drawing or watercolour
painting, then this is the course for you. You’ll get one-to-one
and small-group tuition plus several demonstrations on drawing and painting
basics throughout the week. The course is designed specifically for beginners,
however improvers are also welcome as guidance and encouragement can also
be given to this level. Minimum party size is 8 participating guests and
the Maximum party size is 20 participating guests.

The Improvers Art Course
The Improvers Art Course’
has been designed to follow on from the ‘Introduction to Drawing
and Painting’ Course. Also run from ‘The Moulin de la Touche’
in Brittany, as a five-day residential course, students will have the
opportunity to explore new media whilst strengthening their drawing and
observational skills. This course also includes teaching sessions on colour
and tonal value.
Who
is it for?
This course is aimed at students who have had some experience of drawing
and painting. Minimum party size is 8 participating guests and the Maximum
party size is 20 participating guests.

Price is per person and includes full board, materials and tuition. The
reduced rate is for partners who do not wish to participate in the course.
They are welcome to enjoy exploring the surrounding area or just relax
in this beautiful setting.
What is included?
From the moment you arrive you’ll be looked after extremely well.
Bed, breakfast, lunch and evening meals are all included in the price.
All the materials and equipment you’ll need to see you through the
week are also provided - you don’t need to bring a thing!
What isn't included?
It is the guests responsibility to make their own travel and travel insurance
arrangements to and from 'Le Moulin de la Touche'. We can supply you with
a ferry code to save you around 30% on standard rates or we can arrange
for foot pasengers to be collected from St Malo ferry terminal - this
must be requested at time of booking.
How will I spend my time?
Guests arrive and are settled in. The following days start with teaching
sessions from an English speaking instructor after which students will
be set manageable projects using basic skills. One of the days will be
a trip to Moncontour or Dinan for some alternative settings. Wine tasting
and a market visit can also be incorporated into your stay.
Where will I be staying?
In one of our beautiful riverside properties with stunning views along
the valley.
